Chris Pritchard began riding as a small child on her family’s horses. She competed as a Hunter Rider in Harrisburg, PA as a teenager and was a member of Harcum Equestrian Team, Bryn Mawr, PA in College.

Chris then spent a few years exercising race horses. It was at this time she discovered Dressage. She has worked with Grand Prix rider and trainer, Dr. Carole Ludwig for the past 16 years riding everything from youngsters to Grand Prix Schoolmasters. During this time she has also had the opportunity to ride with International riders such as Hokan Thorne, Michael Poulin, Belinda Nairn-Wertmen, Bent Jensen, Jules Nyssen and Alex Cherba.

Chris rides, trains and competes for her clients and has a steady supply of quality young horses for sale. She trains these horses to European Young Horse standards while putting an emphasis on being an enjoyable mount for professionals and amateurs alike.

Chris also has experience prepping horses for Breed Performance Testing which includes riding and free jumping. In 2005 High Valley Hanoverian owned Whitney earned her Hanoverian Elite Mare status under Chris’s training and showing.

Chris earned her USDF Bronze medal in 2005 on horses she trained herself and is currently one score away from receiving her Silver medal.

Chris’ teaching style is a very positive, “can-do” approach based on classical principles. She has worked with a variety of types and breeds over the years and takes great pride in seeing her students learn to be better riders and horseman. Her students compete and do well at shows.
